As the title indicates, Earthquake Network is a tool capable of detecting earthquakes using its network of smartphones and tablets. It manages to achieve this task because almost each mobile device running Android OS has a built-in accelerometer, even yours. Each time the earth shakes somewhere in your area, this app will send you an alert based on the information gathered from devices closer to its epicenter.
The user interface brings an easy-to-use layout where you can access data from national and international seismic networks, plus a history of earthquakes that took place starting with the year of 2000. A nice feature is the integrated chat feature which lets you exchange information with other users during seismic movements. Moreover, through the interface you can check reports provided by other users, and you can also make your own.
If you're willing to pay a certain amount of money for the PRO version of Earthquake Network, you will gain access to a pack of new features. Probably the most important ones are the warnings in case of vibrations detected by your smartphone, and the ability to receive notifications through voice synthesizer.
