METAL SLUG 3 is a classic title coming from the Neo-Geo MVS arcade platform to the Android environment. This installment is a follow-up to Metal Slug 2. Since its release, this game became available for multiple platforms, including PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Microsoft Windows, iOS, etc. Even though the original release of this title was back in 2000, today, it still maintains several features from its unique gameplay. This aspect is the best practice as long as you want to appeal to an already established audience.

Multi-leveled storyline

The plot is captivating due to its intriguing events. Everything starts with General Morden and his optimistic plan to remove the worlds' governments through a coup d'état. However, his operation meets opposition and defeat by a hero group known as the Peregrine Falcon Strike Force. Although Morden has to accept the failure of his scheme, there's always a way to try again. This villain decides to improve his chances of taking out the already established authority by creating an alliance with an alien race. These plans don't end well because the extraterrestrials take him as a prisoner. Since there's room for affiliations, Morden's rebel troops decide to team up with the Strike Force to defeat the alien force and kill Morden.

Major Marco Rossi and Captain Tarma Roving, along with Sargent 1st Class Fiolina Germi Sargent Eri Kasamoto, are the main heroes that managed to defeat the opposition. The army forces send Rossi and Roving to remove any structure left behind by Morden's faction, but the more they fight, the clearer it becomes that this evil General is not as dead as others think. In the end, we will make revelations as we find out some crazy secrets.

Destroy the enemy forces

As I mentioned above, the gameplay is mostly the same as you find in other releases in this franchise. Your purpose is to shoot streams of projectiles and bullets at enemy forces to kill them and complete the level. From time to time, you will also have to face a boss that is tougher and larger than the other units. Take advantage of numerous weapon upgrades and tanks to destroy the opposition and complete the campaign. Besides shooting, you can also defeat these rivals by performing melee attacks and kicking them. During each level, we can save prisoners of war in exchange for more weapons and random items. Plus, always pay attention to what happens on the screen because the game's scenery is destructible, and it reveals additional items and even power-ups.

Complete the campaign

The mission system allows the player to experience the game's features by following different paths, but in the end, he has to face the same boss battle to win. Remember to save as many prisoners of war as possible to tackle the mighty enemy with great equipment on you. When it comes to controls, use the stick present on the screen's left side to move the hero across the map. With the other buttons found on the right side, you can perform various actions. METAL SLUG 3 also gives us the ability to team up with a friend and kill enemies as a duo through the Bluetooth function.
