You can either opt to save the output file as a PDF document or just as a picture in the popular PNG format. Another interesting feature of TapScanner is the ability to scan a document and have the PDF file contain editable text by taking advantage of the integrated OCR technology. This specific technology offers support for more than 100 languages, and the detection should work just fine as long as the text is visible and the camera of your device is of decent quality.
